Introduction

If you're someone who can turn a simple WhatsApp enquiry into a great customer experience, we'd love to meet you!

We're looking for a friendly, organised and highly responsive Theatre Communications Administrator to help us stay connected with our growing community.

You'll be the first point of contact for customers reaching out by phone, WhatsApp, email or social media. From answering questions to helping someone book their first improv class, you'll make sure every interaction feels personal, helpful and welcoming.

This is primarily a back-office communications and administration role, with occasional Front of House cover when needed.

Perks of working at The Courtyard Playhouse

  • A creative, vibrant workplace with regular team socials
  • Team wellness activities, including sports and outdoor adventures
  • UAE residence visa and full medical insurance
  • Annual flight allowance of up to AED 3,500
  • 30 working days of paid annual leave
  • Complimentary improv or acting workshops, subject to availability
  • A workplace where your ideas and initiative are valued
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives
  • Real responsibility within a small, close-knit team

A week in the life of our Theatre Communications Administrator

It's Monday morning and your inbox is already buzzing. A parent wants to know which acting class suits their child, someone is enquiring about an improv workshop, and a customer needs help changing their booking.

You'll respond to enquiries, follow up with potential customers and help turn interest into registrations.

Throughout the week, you'll set up WhatsApp groups, send workshop reminders, share approved photos and keep participant records up to date. You'll work with our artistic, workshops and marketing teams to make sure everyone has the information they need.

You might spend an afternoon covering the Front of House desk while a colleague is away, welcoming visitors and helping with bookings or payments.

And before that important email or promotional message goes out? You'll be the person who spots the typo everyone else missed.

No two days at the Playhouse are quite the same, and that's part of the fun.

What you'll do

  • Make Every Conversation Count: Respond promptly and warmly to enquiries across WhatsApp, phone, email, Instagram and Meta platforms, helping customers find the right workshops, shows and experiences.
  • Turn Enquiries into Bookings: Follow up with potential customers, answer questions and help convert interest into registrations and ticket sales.
  • Keep Everyone in the Loop: Create and manage WhatsApp groups, send workshop updates, reminders and approved photos, and make sure parents and participants have the information they need.
  • Keep Things Running Smoothly: Maintain accurate customer records, bookings, attendance lists and workshop administration.
  • Support Our Marketing: Help distribute class updates, event information and promotions, capture approved content and proofread communications before they're shared.
  • Step into Front of House: Provide occasional cover during colleagues' breaks, leave or days off, assisting visitors with enquiries, registrations and payments.
  • Work as One Team: Attend weekly meetings and collaborate with colleagues across the Playhouse to deliver a great customer experience.

Your experience and skills

  • Excellent written and spoken English, with a friendly, clear and professional communication style
  • Strong customer service skills and the confidence to handle enquiries independently
  • Highly organised, reliable and attentive to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple conversations, deadlines and administrative tasks at once
  • Confident using WhatsApp Business, email, Instagram and Meta platforms
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Experience with booking systems, customer databases or similar administrative tools
  • Able to draft, edit and proofread customer communications
  • Comfortable assisting customers face-to-face and handling payments when covering Front of House
  • Available to work weekends as part of your regular schedule

Experience in customer service, administration, hospitality, education, events or theatre would be an advantage.

You don't need a background in theatre to join us. What matters most is that you're a great communicator, take ownership of your work and genuinely enjoy helping people.

Why this role
